Sofia is the daughter of a subordinate female, and as such her family didn't expect much from her and her littermate brother. Like her mother Moza, Sofia was often called upon to babysit Maua's young pups, a task that she is perfectly content with. Sofia's mother and her aunt Kinah later leave the Udevu to form a new group and while Sofia is given the option to come with them, she prefers to stay with the rest of her family and wishes them good luck.
When her grandmother Maua dies from a snake bite, her aunt Raquell seizes control of the Udevu with her younger half-brother Machanga by her side. It's during this time that she meets Wemusa, a roving male from the much more savage Komandoo Mob, and it's from him that she learns the fate of her mother: Moza's group had died off due to disease and she was apparently later killed by a jackal.
Like Raquell, Sofia ends up mating with Wemusa and later gives birth to a litter of pups. When her pups are still very young, Raquell is bitten by a snake and is unable to lead the group during a burrow move, leaving Sofia to take charge and safely lead the Udevu to a new burrow. Raquell managed to recover from her snake bite and saw great leader potential in her niece, and declares her to be the next dominant female if anything happens to her. After Raquell is suddenly killed during a burrow move one day, Sofia becomes the new leader and takes the rogue male Wemusa as her mate. At that time the Udevu was down to only a handful of members, but Sofia and Wemusa were quick to bring up the family's numbers, eventually restoring the Udevu to its former glory. And it's during her reign that the Udevu end up regaining their old territory that had previously belonged to their rivals, the Komandoo.
Sofia leads the Udevu for a few years before losing to her daughter Ori in a mashindano and later disappears after showing signs of being very ill.
Was thinking of doing Babi's ref sheet, but I decided to draw his daughter first.
So here's my version of the MM meerkat Sophie, who was portrayed by Tina Sparkle in Seasons 1 through 3 and then by her aunt Ellain Season 4. I of course decided to combine the two because I've always liked the story that the show came up with for her.
