Bees love nectar. Lavender plants produce a natural relaxing fragrance. Combine the two, and you get lavender bushes that are covered in honey and bumblebees who are too drunk to fly away. This bee was just starting to drift off into a drunken stupor, and is tightly clinging to the stalk to keep from either falling off, or being blown away by a summer's breeze.

I really love how detailed this shot turned out. I spruced up the colours a bit, but other than that, it's unfiddled with. I'll put up the close-up of the bee so you can see the vein-like structures in his wings.
