"POTENTIALLY mindless." Garjan spoke, interrupting the young envoy from the Northern Pine Clan, walking with him as they spoke, escorting his guest back to the edge of his woods to see them on their way back home far north. His guest paused, furrowing his brow as he tried to regather his thoughts that had been so interrupted.
"Pardon...?"
"You said the earth dragon is a mindless killing machine. He's only potentially mindless." Garjan repeated with his usual, lazy smile. The other dragon looked back, clearly missing what point the mystic was trying to make.
"I don't understand why the difference matters."
"To you and I? It likely doesn't matter at all. But to someone gifted in divination, well... it's a life or death distinction, my friend." Garjan offered with a bit of a shrug, not bothering to slow his pace as they moved. Eventually, his guest moved to catch back up, matching pace with Garjan's casual stroll.
"I only meant it as an insult..." The younger forest dragon began to explain before, again, Garjan interrupted the young envoy, speaking up as he sat himself down, at the edge of his woods.
"I know what you meant. But it may be important for you to know one day. He isn't mindless, but he can become it. And rest assured only woe and gristly death await any divination mage who thinks they can best the ol brown by matching wits." Garjan offered, nodding off to the north as though he were motioning for the young dragon to be on his way.
"I'm... not a diviner..." came the younger dragon's confused reply, blinking a bit as he tried to understand what exactly Garjan was trying to say.
"Then you'll be quick to shelf your ego and keep far, far from enraging earth dragons, hmm? Do say hullo to Elder Rimu for me. Off you go now." Garjan said, all but shooing the younger dragon. His guest just blinked, looking even more confused as Garjan seemed to be ushering him from his home with haste after the strange 'advice'. Dumbstruck, the younger dragon simply nodded before he headed off, slowly moving into a galloping bound before leaping skywards. Garjan chuckled, watching him leave before heading back towards his home.
A super fun headshot I managed to grab from the awesome
Kaijuwaifu who was doing this real quick over on twitter. Be sure to check out their gallery for some cool crazy stuff!
Really adore how this came out, my fella looking rather thick and pissed. Honestly, it's a pretty decent baseline for the old brown! Going to be uploading an alternate 'bloody' version of this to my scraps that also looks cool as hell!
