Yal is a prophet worm. Like a chaplain, but for races across the multiverse. Calm and well natured, he's always there to guide you through your religious qualms. The way he sees religious is that it's all different journeys to reach a similar destination. People just travel in different ways, and his job is to keep you on a path that's best for you, even if it's not going on that journey at all.
Here he is having a go at a Japanese rock garden. He seems please with the activity.
