Fair Play, Fair PayThe heavily pro-corporate structure of the colonies makes union forming a difficult task and more often than not those that do form tend to be as cut throat as the megacorps they rub shoulders with. Officially the Intersolar Teamsters Confederation serves as one of the Frontier World's foremost logistics contractor. Unofficially, the ITC serves as something of a labor union for a majority of freelance freight captains and stevedores through most of the core colonies. The ITC finds and furnishes freight captains with generally above-the-board contracts for a cut of the profits, providing a source of legitimate income for said captains and nominally minimizing the risk involved both legally, monetarily, and physically. Clients and even entire corporations who breach their contracts risk being blacklisted or embargoed, incentivizing that at least at some level that certain labor rights are observed.
However, like any big player in the Laissez-faire regions, the Confederacy is not without its chequered history and dubious dealings. Even they have been known to look the other way for a particularly wealthy client, and freelancers unwilling to pay their dues may find their ships underserviced when leaving ITC-friendly stations
