Smiley and Friends on the Pier
Commission for
Greyhawk89 Kreigan, Luis, Dukun, Pieter and Smiley enjoying a little bit of fishing. Though smiley doesn't quite understand the concept.
...ignoring how his other friends were rolling their eyes at him, Pieter carefully measured the fish caught at the end of his fishing line. "Probably around eight feet from nose tip to tail tip... got to be over two hundred pounds. So, guys, do I win the competition?"
Kreigan frowned under the shade of his long blond hair. He wanted to say something, but he admired cheating himself too much- it'd be hypocritical to call out one of his few friends about it.
Luis, as a basically honest person, had no such misgiving. Also, coming from a family of fishermen who plied these waters for over a century, he was taking the fishing contest more seriously than the more laid-back Kreigan and Pieter. "Smiley, you know that's cheating."
Smiley, already being, well, smiley, smirked harder, while still being careful about the fishhook clenched between her teeth. "You guys only said that I couldn't use my, as you put it, 'natural talents' at catching fish as an 'unfair advantage'. No one said anything about helping any of the others though. Maybe you meant it, but you never said it."
Dukun, son of Ravanok, of the Clan Desert-spring, snorted his displeasure at his friends dishonorably using words to twist the spirit of an agreement, but he held his tongue about it.* I can still win this*, he thought. After all, the fishing contest was about more than just the size of the fish you caught. "...Big as she is, she still only counts as one!" he declared.
