Tettigonia viridissima, the Great Green Bush Cricket. Rather the fitting name, but here in Sweden they go under the common name of Green Wart Biter, due to the practice of common folk in olden days to have these guys and their cousins bite warts from the skin. I don't know if it was a particularly successful cure, but with mandibles like these? I dare say it could work!
Anyway, I caught this pretty female while mowing my parents' lawn, liberating her from the whirling blades of the grass-cutting machinery. A handsome one indeed, easily some four or five centimetres long, and rather a good sport when it came to posing, when she was satisfied I wasn't going to eat her.
