From an early age, Buzwe was a very brave and fearless meerkat. He showed no fear when his family came face to face to with predators or when they fought against rival mobs, always at the front and ready to fight. He was also a very protective babysitting to his younger siblings and defended them in burrow raids more than once. But like many male meerkats, Buzwe knew that he couldn't stay in his birth mob forever, and he and two of his younger brothers leave home one day in the search of a new mob to join.
Instead of a new mob, what Buzwe and his brothers find instead is Badriyah, a lone female who was forced to leave her mob after losing to her mother in a mashindano. Badriyah tells them that she managed to rail her family on her own for a few months in the hopes of challenging her mother again before she eventually gave up and went to find some roving males to join. Impressed by her determination and how long she managed to survive on her own, Buzwe takes Badriyah as his mate, and the small group of meerkats officially become a new mob when Badriyah gives birth to a litter of pups.
Now called the Komboli Mob, Buzwe ends being just as protective of his new family as he was of his younger siblings in his birth mob, teaching his children how to forage and protecting them from would-be predators. He and Badriyah go on to have several litters together and Buzwe puts his own life on the line multiple times to keep them safe, but there eventually came a day when his fearless costed him his own life.
While out foraging for food one day, Buzwe and his family are ambushed by a hyena that somehow got past the sentries. Buzwe and his family are forced to run for cover, but after taking shelter in a nearby bolt hole he realizes that his daughter Madini and the group's latest litter of pups were still on the surface, making them an easy target for the hyena. Badriyah sobs, believing that her children would be as good as dead out there, but after seeing his mate weep in despair Buzwe utters six words.
"No meerkat should have to hide."
Ignoring his mate's pleas, Buzwe charges out of the bolt hole to face the hyena head on. He fights like mad, tearing into the fearsome predator until both of them were black and blue. But one thing that Buzwe forgot is that hyenas typically travel in packs, and it isn't long before the lone hyena summons its packmates. As brave as he was, Buzwe was no match for an entire pack of predators.
Buzwe ended up being killed and eaten by the hyenas, but his death wasn't in vain as he managed to buy his children enough time to run to safety. From that day on the Komboli Mob forever remembered him as "Fearless Buzz", a courageous meerkat who took on a hyena against unbeatable odds and gave up his own life so that his children could live.
Buzwe is based off of Fearless Buzz, a deleted character from an early draft of The Lion King 1 1/2. I decided to make him Timon's grandfather in my headcanon.
