Well if your invested in one side, I'd go with a Blood Elf Mage. They have the best freaking pvp racials!
Mage with double silence is just insane. =O
Conversely, have you seen the racials Goblins have? Freaking 1% built in spell haste, 15% discount at any shop regardless of rep, rocket pack [every goblin has the equivilant to the blink spell] and able to open bank from anywhere...wow!

One of my first and most successful characters was a Tauren from Mulgore. That race, and zone, will forever be my favorite. Say what you will about Horde, Alliance, newer races, whatever. No other place on Azeroth feels quite like home to me. This piece brings back all sorts of wonderful nostalgia. Cheers to you, and to the artist!
