I don't know what the worst part about petrification is:
being alive though inanimate, aware and unable to communicate, left to your own thoughts.
Weathering time, if you managed to stay sane, how terrifying it must be to eventually realize that stone will wear down~

I might have mentioned this elsewhere, but there's an on-line comic about a girl who's voluntarily turned to stone so she can spy on the bad guy. The question is, can she stay sane long enough?
