Alien bangers who want actual aliens, not colour-swapped humans.
Also, since this image constantly gets shared and there are some questions and misconceptions about it:
-yes, the blue chick is heavily based on Asari, since they are the most obvious gooner bait design I know of.
-the brown centauroid is not based on any specific alien, Mass Effect or otherwise.
-the aliens being presented like wares is the entire point - all of the depicted figures are stand-ins for designs in media, the marketing department of the companies creating said media, and consumers. You can imagine the aliens as holograms on a promotion event.

The Asari are a prime example, to the point the description can be applied to them without changing anything (save for the skimpy clothes, at least they weren't running around in hostile environments dressed in bikinis). Meanwhile, everyone knows that Blasto is the pinnacle of sexiness in Mass Effect.
Oh yeah I totally caught that vibe, I had to laugh and share it with my partner because we talk about it often. I do appreciate they gave them actual spacesuits and not space bikini fights. No one wants to be potentially radiation toasted and have to be pulling them wedgies out of places mid battle.
Blasto is besto, true statements. One of my buddies is always pushing for that sweet sweet elcor love as well

Something not being for prudeservatives has never stopped them from whinging about it in newspaper op-eds and on TV. That's the problem with prudeservatives - they refuse to live and let live.
Dating party members had been around well before Mass Effect, yes. But IIRC Mass Effect was more clear about you boinking them, and was also highly visible due to popularity and being released and marketed in the 2000s.

Creepy Marketing Guy either wants to get off himself, or thinks that is what makes people buy the product.
Well, viewing it realistically, it's highly unlikely that extraterrestrials would be able to interact with earthlings in many ways. Communication could be so inhuman it will take forever to translate, even slight differences in atmospheric composition would have negative effects, etc.

and this is where star wars is superior: alien design. they actually make a lot of aliens that look like fucking aliens you might actually meet.
that said, i kinda feel like the point of star trek is to address elements of humanity?
why can't we have a series that has the alien design of star wars and the smart aspects of star trek

Adressing humanity and aliens looking like aliens don't have to be mutually exclusive. As far as I know, the main reason for Star Trek's alien design was that it started out as a low-budget tv show, and later it was to preserve the appearance of the originals and keeping it consistent.
The Orville, maybe? There are some weirder alien designs there and it does get into deeper stuff sometimes, although it's mostly comedy, like when one of the crew members developed a porn addiction and infected the ship with a virus on his search for more extreme stuff, but at the same time, the problems with his partner were also a part of the episode.

I love this cause the last alien is pretty cute but this is also 100% what happened to Mass Effect!
Bioware: LOOK! Blue Bisexual Babe Aliens.
Guy: I like the girl whose face we can't see
Bioware: What?
Girls: I like the exoskeleton bird.
Bioware: Oh...ok. We can work with that.
also do we get more of these bottom aliens?

Yes, turns out, interesting personalities are more bangable than boobs on a platter.
They're a throwaway design, but did inspire an original species: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/44083535/

Well, Kalgkur is a subplot protagonist in his webcomic but he becomes relevant to the main cast soon. He’s a shy dork of a Zerg-esque mantis-serpent that is (ironically) afraid of bugs.
I’m too intrigued by Talita’s ”ugly duckling”-backstory, she’s just so adorable. I love how she’s the actual protagonist of RttS; most aliens of this kind gets relegated to being minor sidekicks at best.

I'm aware of what a Baxxid is, since I did read Out-of-Placers years ago, but not to the point where that specific character showed up.
That is a thing that annoys me about sci-fi media as well, the most interesting alien characters are just side decorations for plots centered about the most boring humans imaginable.
