You might have noticed that I tend to end the life of characters and fashion the story to make those scenarios fit. My stories usually revolve around danger and the overcoming of life threatening danger. The normal way of demonstrating, that the overcoming of this danger is not a small feat, by showing the results of failure. That failure necessarily showcases just how dangerous the situation is to a character.
