Oh gosh—well as much as I'd love to take the compliment, I fear it's overstated! I've done my hand at digital painting, but here I've combined both worlds, so that it's not a real digital painting, it's just a render that I then painted over with brushes, filters and actions to simulate a painting. Quality with far less time, and time is precious to me, so I'm willing to make that sacrifice.
I've been building my render and photoshop skills for years indeed, but I know there's a split in the art community that might (appropriately in my view), value the work of genuine painters over the work of photoshop manipulators like me. But I certainly appreciate the compliment of the character's looks though!
