Here's a tour that leads into the slimy depths of an insectivorous hyena! Aelius is quite fuzzy and floofy on the outside. He's a sweet guy! But on the inside, well.. The physical contrast with the outside is pretty obvious! :D Take a look inside that mouth! Although I can't prove it to you with a still image, Aelius can dart and lap his tongue quite rapidly. That thick tongue has some hardened bumps on its topside, as opposed to the bristly papillae which other feliformia have atop theirs. That aardwolf's got some impressive fangs and healthy incisors, but if he's gonna chew with the back of his jaws, it's gonna be nothing but gums. :P But what good would some little peg teeth do for someone who usually swallows their food whole, anyway? The drool within his saturated mouth is quite thick and sticky, further aiding his flexible tongue. His steamy breath would certainly smell earthy and metallic-esque because of his insectivorous habits. Now, the throat... It's not bumpy like the surface of the tongue! But it is more soaking-wet, overall. It's quite tight in there, too~ The muscles behind all of those soft, squishy tissues get quite rigid. Aelius' stomach is—by far—the sloppiest chamber within his body! And unlike his mouth, there's no airflow in there, so there's gonna be all sorts of strange and pungent odors trapped in there! Though, they will vary depending on what he specifically eats. That stomach lining is pretty elastic and reactive to touch! But like everywhere else inside his digestive system, it's all coated in a gloss of sticky slimy stuff!

A huge thanks to my pal C4SS1DY for making this commission look as lovely as it does. I absolutely relish the linework; specifically the curvy contours of Aelius' internals and the small crinkles on his tongue. And Aelius' fleshy cheeks and palate are no exceptions to that! <3 The glossy details portray the sliminess of his insides so effectively without obscuring the flesh, itself. All of that culminates so nicely to bring the fleshiness of his internals to life. Perhaps, I'm a bit too enthusiastic about it, but I don't care! It's how I truly feel. X3
