When it comes to furry styles, I do enjoy the toony, more animated look that many artists bring to their work. It gives our sonas and characters life and energy that allows us to be engaged with them in a way that is hard to get in real life. However, every so often I find myself attracted to the more realistic touch. How a character can have their fur ruffled in just the right way that it looks like you can reach out and touch it or when looking at their animal-like eyes you can still see a hint of human intelligence. That's why I really enjoy this picture. The subtle details help to draw the eye in a way that gives rise to the thought of 'what if?'.

The way the collar and fins are frayed with holes, the whiskers that surely grow irritated by putting on a shirt, and a muzzled face that suggests a being that is more than just an intelligent animal. Were Vaporeons real, would they look like this in real life?

Who's to say, but I like to imagine it would be the case.
