I'm back from Interlochen! All that water in the great lakes, plus the fact that my wallpaper is an underwater scene, compelled me to write a bit of music that takes place down under.. in the ocean, not Australia.
Down in the murky depths, where the sun cannot reach and life is scarce, a hidden underwater abode can barely be seen in the distance, nestled in the rocks. As we get closer, we can hear music coming from inside. Through the window, a solitary figure is visible, dancing to an imaginary orchestra, away from the life he once knew and yet completely content in his exile. His dance grows more and more grand, until slowly the music fades away once again hidden in the dark shadows of the deep.
This piece was an interesting task to write, as I tried to create some very murky and ambient sounds as well as some more traditional ones, and have them co-exist make sense in terms of the story being told by the music. Feedback and impressions always appreciated! If a different scene comes to your mind listening to this, I'd love to hear about it!

great work! the underwaterey sounds certainly appeal to me, for obvious reasons, squeaky :P I think it fits the imagery you described. I think it would work very well in a movie or video game, the protagonist exploring mysterious, spacious halls.
I particularly like the "musical silence" in this... the spaces between the notes say as much as the notes themselves, which is nice, rather than hearing it sound like you tried to cram interesting sounds across every stripe of silence hehe.
I find it soothing to listen to as I work. Thanks for sharing ^_^
