1.5"x1.5", copper, fine and sterling silver, 14k yellow gold, amber.
Made for trade for Pascalle Ballard, for her wedding jewelry.
Copper repousse` was used to tap out the honey bee and the wings were carefully cut from silver. I used a 14k yellow gold bezel on the amber to offset the stone and enhance the warmth of the peace. I finished by chemically tarnishing with liver of sulphur and hand rubbing the piece until the high points were polished.
I've never had to do so much anatomical research for a metal piece before, I'm actually rather proud of it. I was terrified it'd look more like a fly.
