Unique fruits that are used in the Year of the Cow universe.
Here's a description of each fruit from my writer,
otakuman24.
In the world of Year of the Cow, there are a wide variety of different fruits, each with various different properties that make them special
Over the years, many people have figured out ways to use these fruits to be able to make life easier.
No one is sure exactly how these fruits came to exist, but these fruits are so useful that they are cultivated for use in everyday life
Hibiki's father, Mr. Koumori, is the owner of multiple orchards that grow a wide variety of these different fruits (not just the ones for eating). This means his influence extends over the construction, energy, and food industries.
Light Fruit - Fruit that gives off radiant, glowing light. Used as light bulbs in the Year of the Cow world, covering them with a thick cloth is how the lights These trees were often used by ancients when travelling as a means of finding their way at night.
Flower Fruit: This fruit tastes absolutely terrible, but comes from a tree known to have exceptionally beautiful flowers. The inside of each fruit contains rich soil, perfect for gardening. All of the fruit is rich in nutrients for plants, and thus makes for great fertilizer and potting soil.
The fruit also smells really bad.
Life Fruit: a fruit that somehow brings back the dead. This fruit is extremely rare, and there's said to be only one tree that exists in the world, and it only bears fruit once every 500 years or so
These fruits never rot, and stay fresh until eaten. They fetch high prices since it is the ultimate insurance that should something happen, one can be brought back to life. However, there are restrictions to how effective it can be.
Fire Fruit
Steve: Fire Fruit comes from a tree that never burns. When lit, a fire fruit can stay alight for hours on end. Regularly used for torches, fireplaces, and sources of heat.
Steve: Thankfully, it is not already on fire when picked off the tree. It requires a spark or some other form of ignition before igniting into flame.
Smooth Fruit: A fruit that smells great, but tastes bad, it's chock full of Aloe and Vitamin E. It is used in the creation of many creams and beauty aides to give radiant skin and sparkling hair.
Bubble Fruit: Another fruit that smells great, but tastes bad; this fruit is used as soap to wash away dirt and grime in the baths. Gives off lots of scrubbing bubbles when rubbed against the skin. Can be carved into neat little shapes, or bars (the most common shape).
Bubble Fruit comes in a variety of different types, and herbologists often work at making new breeds of Bubble Fruit to expand into new lines of soaps.
The fire fruit was supposed to be lava fruit from the lava lamp design, but it doesn't scream dangerous at all. :\
The fruits idea was inspired from the ice cream thing from Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, coming next month
on 9-7-10. And a list One Piece fruits from Otakuman.
More fruits on the way. :3
