It's entirely possible, which is to say absolutely true, that I'm motivated by my furry interests, but while I was playing FF9 I was kinda salty about Burmecia and even more so about Cleyra, and despite Beatrix's gradual understanding that she was in the wrong, I also had a grudge for times she one-shot the entire party. Still am/do, on both counts, enough so that I decided Freya, the one who lost the most from both events, deserved some revenge.
I was also motivated by remembering how Beatrix was always talked up as being a super cool and tough woman. Which is deserved, considering that during the times you fight her, even if the battles were winnable, she'd still probably be one-shotting one of your party members every few rounds. But during The Alexandria Incident, Steiner was already better equipped and higher leveled and was out-damaging her two to one, so imagine the gap between then and a max-leveled, max-equipped Freya.
Beatrix sure isn't going to be "imagining" it.
Whether in her coat or in armor, Freya looks damn good in red, and I love a woman who looks good in red.
No real story for this one. Just pure, satisfying revenge. Feels good, man.
I should say that when I was first writing up the notes for this pic, I was going to point out what the various pieces of her gear are supposed to be, but I thought it would clutter the picture too much. Then Jorge did it without me even asking and made it look natural. Nice. Also, while it can't really be shown, the blue glow in her eyes is from her being one paper cut away from Trancing, just to bring maximum hurt.

This might be the most commas I've used in a picture description.
While not directly inspired by or based on this, I remembered this little thing from long ago. This will only make sense to a small number of you, so consider it my little gift to those of you who get it: https://wiki.project1999.com/File:Cros_Revenge.jpg

Freya's got that Mojo going for her, got the high-level armor and accessories,
the tactical-nuke of a weapon for her to wield with her finger ready to pull the
trigger to pop open that Can of Whoop-Ass that is long overdue!
Oh, yeah, Beatrix... that shit is about to hit the fan... at super-
sonic speed into a jet's turbine engine!!!
