Some Kobolds would definitely be the answer for that kind of problem. I am sure they would just LOVE to please their master and also feel very important to have to carry out such an important task and their energetic nature would just fit togther. I have never heared of a Kobold complaining about doing the same task for the millionth time...and throwing a ball or walking around should be also fun for them. Win Win I would say...and you get your sleep.
