The Bear is seen my many cultures as a Guardian. It is both the Mother that protects her cubs, and the Warrior that fights for the glory of his people. Within the Bear burns a spirit that cannot be extinguished.

The Bear is a creature I identify with, and I figured it was about time I drew something about it. I'm rather pleased with how this came out. I think I need to practice drawing fire, but aside from that i'm happy with it.

And about the gryphons...I identify strongly with gryphies as well, hence why you see them dancing about the border, and dangling in pendant form from the subject's neck.
