Siman-Clifton says, "A Lance Corporal of His Majesty's Royal Engineers, circa 1916.A uniform which is something of a work in progress, the tunic is an original 1922 pattern OR's Serivce Dress Tunic, identical to 1907 pattern other than a lined collar, closer cut and lining colour. The buttons and insignia are all original British issue. The trousers are 1940 pattern Battledress, photoshop was used to remove the pockets, I still need appropriate trousers. The cap is a modern replica and spot on to the 1916 Service Dress or 'Trench' Cap. The boots are modern, rubber-soled combat boots because this uniform is designed for use with WW1 railway equipment and I'm sure as hell not wearing hobnails on a steel footplate."

Thanks very much for posting this AND putting the uniform together, HF. There really is a dirth of WWI images in Furry. Pity since it really was the war where so many illusions and global innocence died.
Yes, I understand the boots are the best that could be gotten for this pic, but shouldn't they have been Photoshopped to be shiny? All 'spit and polish' you know?

Your effort is much appreciated, Siman.
A culture, to a large degree, is made up of a people's history and all too often the small bits of that history are lost through attitudes of 'no one would be interested in this'. Thanks for doing your bit to save that history for us all.
