Last one I swear!
Here is a tool I made from a piece of sheet metal and a length of rebar.
It's a leather working tool called a "Stitch spacer" or a "Pricking wheel".
To use this tool you run it across a piece of leather and the marks it make will be where you put your holes.
The newer one is the with a copper ferrule, or piece of copper pipe around the wood to keep the handle from splitting from the tool shank being rammed in.
The handle was basically made from scraps. The wood is from the spindles of a wooden chair.
Looks ugly, works great.
The most difficult part to make was star wheel. Lots of angles to map out on a piece of sheet metal and a lot of of filing. For some reason I can only map out 8 pointed stars, however in this one I managed to make it out of center, but luckily it still works the way it should.
