I thought I had uploaded this before, just realised why I left it in my "To upload" folder >.<
Commission I received last year, showing off a collection of the large rifles Anastasia has used in her lifetime. There are others of course, but these are some of the more unique ones. And no, before anyone asks, these are not shotguns. They are double-rifles. Descriptions of each below!
1. Behemoth: The first double rifle that Anastasia owned belonged first to her father, reluctantly handed to her when she expressed an interest in hunting large game. Permitted to fire Behemoth on the Fortescue property, Anastasia learned how to handle double-rifles and manually reload large bore cartridges with this weapon. The African themed engravings on this smooth bore eight gauge over-under rifle have long since worn away with age and the dark walnut stock is covered in scratches and gouges, some of which bear evidence of amateur repair. Her father handed this weapon down to discourage her ambition of hunting, with its calibre and barrel configuration it is a large and unwieldly rifle, suffice to say she maintained the rifle and served her well in her early ventures. Behemoth was lost during an expedition in 1901.
2. Stheno: The final double-rifle that Anastasia commissioned from the gunmakers of Birmingham is the most unusual and expensive one yet. Made from blackened lightweight Inconel Titanium to reduce weight and maintain integrity, featuring a Mesquite wood stock engraved with Gorgon imagery inlaid with gold. Featuring a 30 inch side by side barrel set up with the option of increasing barrel length by an additional 10 inches via screw on extensions, the weapon unloaded weighs in the region of 52lbs. Stheno fires customised 20mm calibre projectiles, with its shells being loaded with one of three kinds of ammunition, those being armour piercing, SLAP (Saboted light-armour penetrator) or MAMP (Multipurpose anti-material penetrator). The rifles iron sights are also accompanied by a rail system while allows for a scope to be mounted if necessary. Using this rifle, Anastasia achieved her longest ranged confirmed kill of 3.7 miles.
3. Leviathan: From multiple experiences against deadly foes during the second war, Anastasia commissioned this double rifle in 1948 to aid against abominations encountered in future missions. Featuring 26-inch barrels and weighing around 38lbs. Devoid of the standard engravings one would see on a custom-made rifle, it simply has the rifles name etched into the metal around the trigger guard, and the owners name etched around the rear sights. Its stock is made from Sugar Maple with a black oil finish. As this weapon possesses no cheek rest, Anastasia frequently strapped a leather pad around the stock. Featuring a standard short to medium range express sight set up, this 2-bore double rifle fires jacketed explosive shells. Designed to penetrate a target and explode within causing horrifying damage, the gunmakers even claimed that such ammunition could pierce the hull of a light tank and disable/destroy it. Leviathan was confiscated by the police in 1971.
4. Kraken: The second hunting rifle Anastasia ever owned which had the privilege of being her primary backup rifle throughout her Indian and African ventures. Being the first double-rifle that was custom made for her, she went overboard on the specifications and decorations. Crafted in the late 1820's from the finest materials available at the time, giving Kraken a unique appearance with its stock and grip made from Mesquite wood and the barrels forged from Damascus steel. With the stock decorated with highly intricate jungle foliage designs along with its plated surfaces, the weapons name, along with "Major Fortescue, Major of the 11th" is engraved onto a golden plate above the triggers. Featuring a simple express flip up sight system and accompanied by standard iron sight. This four-bore rifle served Anastasia well for over forty years before being left behind in an African hunting house, its current whereabouts are unknown.
5. Medusa: Developed during the later stages of the second world war, during which time Anastasia and her squad were assigned with clearing and securing weapons research facilities. Combat in these facilities was often carried out in closed quarters and often against heavily armoured soldiers, occasionally against APB – “Abteilung für paranormale Bergung” (Paranormal Recovery Department) super soldiers. The need for maximum firepower in a smaller package resulted in Medusa, a two bore double rifle designed with a much shorter fifteen-inch barrel in mind. When entering close quarters combat it was not unusual for Anastasia to load one barrel with a solid slug and the second barrel with a cased shot charge, allowing her to deal with lightly armoured targets or heavy armoured targets without changing the load. A horrifying weapon to be on the receiving end of, it nonetheless saw extensive use. Medusa went missing sometime during the end of WW2.

Very Jakobsy. If it took more than one shot, you weren't using one of these monstrosities. }:-P There's an episode of Forgotten Weapons focusing entirely on these types of safari-era "stopping rifles." Anyway, both Sir Hammerlock and Burt Gummer would approve.
Note: The Jakobs Orphan Maker from the Captain Scarlet DLC for Borderlands 2 basically functions like a stopping rifle, except that it fires two shots at a time and uses shotgun ammo. So we could imagine it as a "mega slug gun." Closest thing to a stopping rifle in a video game.

You're the second person to mention Borderlands to me in relation to Anastasia. I've only ever played a few hours of the first one, so I'm not sure what the Jakobsy is. I get Burt Gummer though "Just doing what I can with what I got".
Though I watched Tremors when it first came out, inspiration for the large caliber rifles though stems more from characters like Alan Quartermain & Van Pelt. And the words from Scaramanga when he's asked about a single bullet weapon and he simply remarks "I only need one". And yes, I saw the Forgotten Weapons video about the 2-bore double rifle, and watched the manufacturer of such through the whole process. Quite informative!

Alan Quatermain would have been a Jakobs fan if not for the fact that Jakobs was founded in 2035 in the Borderlands timeline. Their brand motif is based around the Old West, the safari era, and maybe into the 1920s. Btw, did you know Michael Gross (did they use stunt doubles in that movie?) broke the stock on that fancy 8-gauge under-lever monster gun during a stunt? The stock splintered when he fell off the bulldozer.
Anyway, the Jakobs motto is: "If it took more than one shot, you weren't using a Jakobs."
