Here's hoping that this timeline clears things up a bit.

Porcupine Passions and Bobby's Christmas Carol are canon to The Beach Bears/Life Goes On timeline.

Future So Bright is also canon to The Beach Bears/Life Goes On timeline, however we do not consult each other in future plot developments, simply acknowledging the same timeline.

On Our Own is a completely separate timeline under the control of scatterpaws. I have allowed him to use my characters just about however he likes (the characters themselves sometimes rebel, but that's characters for you).

So, basically anything that happens in Life Goes On/Future So Bright does not affect what happens in On Our Own nor vice versa.

There are a number of notable differences in the two time lines:

In On Our Own, both Bobby and Dipper went to Marshall University, Dipper enters the AFROTC there.

In Life Goes On/Future So Bright, Bobby went to Ohio State while Dipper went to the Air Force Academy.

In On Our Own, Dipper finds Susan again after he finished college, but before entering the Air Force. She is married to someone named Andrew Price, and Dipper departs before she can entice him into an extra marital affair.

In Life Goes On, Dipper kept tabs on Susan, and begins a distant relationship with her, until she drops the correspondence, and sends him a wedding invitation to her nuptials with Justin Bonelli all BEFORE he went to the Academy.

In On Our Own, Bobby and Dipper enter into a relationship with each other. In Life Goes On/Future So Bright they do not.

So, no more speculating that Dipper's relationship with Emily sours and he ends up with Bobby, because that would also mean that Bobby's relationship with Guthrie would also sour.
