Blaze FrostCinder
Full Name: Vladik “Blaze” Mason-Sokolova-Caprite
Species: Wufsky (Wolf/Husky)
Gender: Male (He/Him)
Orientation: Gay
Mother: Zasha Sokolova, Siberian Husky; Sea Plane Pilot
Father: Bertrand Mason, Alaskan Timber Wolf/Eurasian Wolf, Acadian; Botanist and Alchemist
Second Father (Poly Family): Aglakti (Song Maker) Caprite (Bold), Moose; Mage and Fisherman
Personality: Intelligent, Bold, Witty, Curious, Energetic, Playful
Occupation: Flame Mage; Curse Breaker; Adventurer
Hobbies: Collects Dangerous Artifacts; Pilot; dabbles in Alchemy (much to his father Bertrand’s concern and panic)
I’ve been working and reworking his background for a while now, and it still needs some polish. I do feel solid that he comes from an arctic harbor town that’s a crossroads of many cultures. I’ve imagined that in this world, the indigenous (Wolves, Bears, Porcupine, Moose, and others native to the region) civilizations retained their lands and sovereignty, and allowed immigration of foreign groups at their discretion, intermixing and forming a blended cultural tapestry. So Blaze is the son of a Siberian Husky mother and an Alaskan Timber Wolf/Eurasian Wolf mix father, being also raised by his second father Aglakti, a Moose mated to his biological parents.
When he was young he was out on Aglakti’s fishing boat and they were caught in a bad storm. Blaze (then Vladik), fell from the boat and nearly froze in the icy water. In desperation, and with dumb luck, his waning consciousness connected with a Fire Elemental that (for mysterious reasons even I don’t know yet) had been trapped in the depths below. A portion of its living spark of flame was bestowed upon the pup, and it blossomed and fought back the icy grip of death. When his father quickly pulled him from the water, he was remarkably changed, fur in shades of icy blue, and glowing fire in his eyes. His new flame proved unwieldy and rather dangerous in one so young, so a set of binding spells in the form of arcane symbols were marked onto his fur, becoming conduits and focal points for the magic. He studied under Aglakti and the most skilled mages and esoteric artists in the region, gaining the moniker of FrostCinder. He eventually made a career for himself as a curse breaker and mystery seeker, working to understand his gift better and use the flame wisely.
