Yes, Spyro is a dragon and got wings. Thus, one would expect Spyro to be able to fly, right?
Well... not that much actually.
One of Spyro's defining traits are, unfortunately for the players attempting some difficult jumps and for Spyro in general, that our dear purple friend's flight skills are really pathetic... really, really, REALLY pathetic. In fact, think: near zero.
It's simple: unless he go through a "flight corridor" or something, Spyro couldn't fly to save his life. If in doubt, see what happens when Spyro try to take it to the skies without the aid of "flight corridors" in Spyro 6 (A New Beginning).
In my fanfic, Spyro, now as an adult, take to the skies hoping that those new big wings of his will help him achieve what his former under-developed wings could never allow him to...
