"The "Dauntless" is the personal Flagship of Grandadmiral Haron Grunger. This Colossal Vessel joined the Ranks of Hunting Squadron 17 two years ago, after it officialy left the Shipyard of the Zetrano Star Cluster 4 Years ago. Grunger was, so it is said, not pleased with his new Flagship and, using his nearly unquestionable powers as Grandadmiral, to order an immediate heavy refit of it. The Shipyard was not really surprised. Every Grandadmiral of the Void Born Fleet, who recieved a Ship of this Typ, complained over something and it is true to say, every "Excelsior" is a true unique piece, So the "Dauntless was pulled back into the large Construction Bay and Work started immiediatly, until it fitted Grungers expectations of it.

The Ship lost some Heavy Weapons and a good part of its "Belly" was rebuild into a giant Hangar Area for a truly fearsome Fighter wing, wo could put two large Carrier Groups to shame. Normaly a Excelsior have no Fighters at all and relies totaly on its Escorts and fearsome arsenal of Point-defense Battery's. Even with this drastic change, the "Dauntless" is a Ship capably of annihilating hole Battle Groups on its own and alone, without breaking into sweat. The "Dauntless" is crewed by veterans of Grungers previous Campaigns and everyone who makes it aboard, is envied and respected.

The "Excelsior"-Cass of Super Battleships was first intruduced into the Void Born Imperial Navy 30 Years ago and was a Secret Project. For this and for its seclusion, the Zetrano Star Cluster was chosen, far far away from anyone, who was to curious. The Shipyard in the Zetrano Star Cluster is solely dedicated for Constructing this enormous Warships and in 30 years they build 60 of them, with another 10 completed within 5 Years. Most of them serving in Sector Fleets or under the Command of the most trustworthy and successful Grandadmirals. A "Excelsior" is a unquestionable Prestige object for the Person in Charge of it and it alone boosts the Fame of said Commander. In addition to their importance on the Battlefied, a "Excelsior" is a mighty Propaganda Tool and is always portrayed as a unstoppable force of the Galaxy with no weaknesses! In fact, there a truly nearly non existing, except on little, yet dangerous one, namly small exhaust ports next to the large Main Trusters nobody knows sadly about. Theoreticly, a "Excelsior" is capable of operating for 12 years completly stocked and Fueled. This time can be properly extended due to Supply Ships, who could directly use the large Supply Bays of the Ships. Each of them is large enough for 2 standard sized Supply Ships sitting comfortably in it. Being the Prestige Objects the Propaganda made them, "Excelsior"-Class Ships recive only the best Material und supply's of the Navy and Crew's of lesser Ships often call them enviously "Hotels" or "The Upper Class Society"!

The "Dauntless" served well under Grandadmiral Grunger and scored many great Victorys, leading Hunting Squadron 17 to great Glory with each one of it. Grunger lead with her a very successful Campaign in the Southern Fringe of the Galaxy, where he conquered hundreds of Systems with it. This Campaign was sadly cut short by the Imperial High Command. The "Dauntless" and Grunger where needed somewhere else and this was the Eastern Fringe of the Galaxy, the territory of the Galactic Alliance, where he was supposed to take over the Command from a other Grandadmiral, who made nearly zero progress with its "Brilliant" Bulldozer Tactics.....
