that started out as something different, but ended up as this.
Rather happy how it turned out regardless, clothing and fabric are still a weak point for me, but the tomb beast badger type guy is someone I will hang onto (though change over time), also opted to change the way they work internally since I was never happy with the tube setup.

Bako is pretty much on the money, they are essentially golems, made by the hand of man(or what have you) for the sake of acting as a guardian. So named as they are mostly created for the sake of protecting tombs and temples from theft, capable of existing without food for long periods of time and laying dormant until they sense intrusion within their designated territory. They consume and digest invaders, and as mentioned have a one way digestive tract, spitting up the bones and other undigested in an predetermined area for the sake of keeping things clean.
Since they are man made they can come in most any shape, they are defined by the black oily look of their flesh(They are essentially blobs with an outer skin now) and the polished white ceramic or bone of which their "mask" and other bits are composed. A look of course inspired by creatures the like of No face from spirited away, I have not looked too much into the origin of such things within Japanese mythology but they show up in several movies/games.
