Following reports of a nuisance Carnivine mugging trainers for their bait at the Pastoria Marsh, Arsene took it upon himself to break into the facility and snag the offending Pokemon for himself.

As Arsene had no Pokemon prior to this event, he opted to pull the Carnivine from its hiding spot and beat it bare-handed. This is not recommended for other trainers looking to catch their first Pokemon.

Following their brawl, Arsene won the Carnivine's favor by offering it a cup of scrambled eggs, and the two quickly became inseparable.
