The Ancient Art Archive #5: Cynthia in Winter (1999)
(AAA folder)
See this journal for an overview of the AAA series.
Somewhere around the turn of the century I compiled a set of drawings of my OC roster in winter-themed outfits reflecting more-or less current fashions of the time, in this case Cynthia is modeling a Columbia "Squeeze Play" jacket, boot-cut jeans (kinda like very mild bell-bottoms), and stack-heeled penny loafers with mild platform soles, commonplace in the late 1990's and often a component of schoolgirl uniforms.
Technical:
--This mini-project pre-dates the existence of FurAffinity, but it did not get posted to VCL AFAIK. Now that I've located the originals for the entire series, it appears they were all penciled in mid-late December 1999, and inked either very close to or just after New Year's Day 2000. All of these were drawn on half-sheets of legal-size copy paper, suggesting that I was trying to use up some oddball stock of these sheets. This particular sheet had two such pics (Tanya was on the other end) so I scanned and processed both sides to craft these two entries for posting together, prior to the next installment of 'What, me Furry?.
--Interestingly enough, I had the forethought to put completion dates on all of these, years before I imagined doing so would be useful. Also in an early example of reference, I jotted down the style of the Columbia jacket she's wearing, "Squeeze Play". What colors it had has been lost to time -- good luck finding a photo of this one.
--All of the existing female characters got similar portraits, and after I ran across the original drawings last week, they went to the head of the line for inclusion in the 'Archive'.
Pencil on copy paper inked with Rapidiograph pens, then re-shaded with pencil. Composited using Micrografx Picture Publisher 10. Project ID# 497
