Kind of an "inside joke" among military personnel (especially Army) is that ANY DAY NOW there will be a replacement for the M-16. These changes are either "pending" or "imminent", or even pitched as "a done deal". I have seen this happen dozens of times and each time, after years of tests, speculative articles in the news, and talks of impending change, it always comes to nothing.
After millions of dollars have been spent, of course.
So, not really "anthro" but there is a domestic housecat involved, so I figured it would work here.
