He was once black and white, like any normal zebra. But he found an ancient tome... in it held all sorts of magic and power... but he had to give something extreme up to obtain that power. He gave up his sight, but he traded that for something so much more powerful. And unholy. The more he uses his powers, the more the corruption seeps in, first taking his sight, then changing his stripes, then staining his fur dark, darker, yet darker still.
That's just an idea for some backstory for the guy. You don't have to use it, but I thought it was cool and I think you should! <3
