And another moment inspired by the 1960 Jack Kinney-produced cartoon Popeye and the Magic Hat (see the original at https://youtu.be/830KsuVDAO8?t=995 or some thoughts about it at https://wp.me/p37lb5-3FU if you like). There's a bit in the cartoon where Brutus uses his magic want to turn Olive Oyl into a seal, and you know, she looks good like that. I can't say this is the best seal I could draw, but for the energy I've had lately, this isn't bad.
I used the same pens I've been using, but shrank the brush size some. It gives me a more uniform line, which I guess is a good thing for this style of work. But what I'd really like is a line that smooths out my unsteady hand and looks like I have some shape to these things. Speaking of which, check out those hind fins, because I really like the way they came out. Like, they're a little plump, but in ways that look good.
