"BookWorm" (OC Doodle)
Last one before I head off camping soon, and it's yet another OC! An old one this time though! :P
"BookWorm", as he's known, is a warrior formed of many pages and and dressed in leather hardback, tasked with safeguarding the Eternity Library and its eons of books. Armed with the First Quill and powers granted by the Library's other stewards, he travels its halls and the worlds within the books themselves, battling all threats to the millennia of knowledge held there, from the smallest typo to the darkest rewrite.
Basically, his whole deal is a game like Castlevania, namely the 2D Metroidvania kind.
Info dump time!
-He was once a mortal before he became the Library's guardian; he still remembers those days even now.
-Those aren't coverings, the paper is his actual skin! The words on them also constantly change.
-The armor is of course made of leather book covers, with a lock on his chest and a bookmark ribbon for his loincloth
-The Library itself holds an example of every single story, record, language and piece of information in all of history, in convenient book form; everything from a full historical document to even knowledge only spoken. Everything still known to this day, and everything otherwise lost in the mortal world. Everything since man first put ideas into words.
-The worlds mentioned are manifested dimensions created from the contents of the Library's books, taking many forms based on specific types of writing. Think the paintings in Portrait of Ruin, but for book genres.
-The First Quill is exactly that; the very first quill ever used, given a new form upon its arrival at the Library. While now a weapon to fight off intruders, its original function still works, though on a larger and more magical scale.
-BookWorm cannot permanently die, and is restored at the last Podium of Progression he wrote into; only the Library's total destruction would kill him too.
-I've actually had the idea for this guy for years, and believe it or not, this dumb I.M. Mean song was the inspiration!
That's all I have on him right now, I'll do more with him later! ;)
