The other night I looked out the window and saw a skunk trotting toward our front yard. Only the more I looked the less it looked like a skunk. Like, there was this big bulbous white thing up front, with a nice V of white converging behind it, but this wasn't on the tail. This was the very front of the creature. I can't tell there was anything in front of the front white bulge. And there was a lot of body behind the point of the V.
I think that what I saw was a raccoon, carrying some large white thing --- an N95 mask? --- in their mouth.
Unfortunately there's no way to know for sure, not with the light how it was. There was a cat who'd laid down in the street, watching the ... skunk? Raccoon with a mask? ... trotting along, but you try asking street cats what they saw in the night.
Anyway I was moved to draw a raccoon holding a face mask and the raccoon came out okay-ish, but I need to try again with different angles until I actually get it right.
