Aaron, having been rescued from wandering the badlands south of Mossflower, sits next to the campfire while his rescuer, a wandering otter named Phineas, gives the hungry mouse some hotroot soup. Silently, Aaron stares into the middle distance as the elder otter asks him what had happened to cause him to get lost in such a place. Despite the otter's best efforts, Aaron could not remember anything at all except his own name. Phineas takes the young mouse with him, and heads north to Mossflower. Perhaps the healers of Redwall could take care of him...
