I imagine they would be thinking that it should be clear that it's quite ineffective so they might as well stop shooting now as it's rather annoying and did ruin a rather expensive shirt. Though with Zaw-Afikh being small and light in build I imagine that they could still get knocked on their rear by the impact which might be a bit undignified.
