Adult Black Dragons are the most aggressive out of all True Dragon species. They are also quite reclusive, and territorial, meaning that they will attack anything that enters their living space and that they perceive as a threat. Areas ruled over by Black Dragons are typically devoid of any other large predators, leaving them as the sole apex predator.
Black Dragons are also insanely vengeful; reports tell of a single male Black Dragon who went on a 20-year long killing spree after his mate and offspring were slain by people from the illegal monster part trade. Said dragon infiltrated hundreds of illegal trade dens, slaughtering anyone who was in any way connected to the death of his kin.
It is highly advised to leave Black Dragons alone as they have no need nor desire for humanoid company. Giving their territories a wide birth is the best course of action. However, if anyone were to be unlucky enough to stumble upon a Black Dragon, the best hope of survival is to hide and hope the dragon doesn't find you. If that fails, throw your weapons to the side and be as unthreatening as possible. With any luck, the dragon will let you off with a warning.
