Caasi and Fleur both arrived at the entrance to the park, which looked demolished, with graffiti and ruined plants. “Oh. I wasn’t expecting this.” The Tapu Lele looked over the trampled flowers, the Marshadow picked one up and examined it closely. “What happened here? All the plants are ruined.” Fleur sighed, she didn’t want to get involved in all this mess, so she started to float away “Well, ya better go find Briar and sort this out, Caasi. I’ll be back later with some marshmallows for ya!”. The Marshadow nodded. “Okay, Fleur.”
When the Tapu Lele was out of sight, 4 silhouettes were watching Caasi from the bushes. Caasi immediately spotted them and dropped the trampled flowers. “Briar, is that you?” the Marshadow called out. “Hahaha!” An Aipom jumped out bushes, then an Illumise followed after, “What you doing, Funny Bonez! That wasn’t part of the plan, stupid!”, then a Piloswine and lastly a Cranidos came out of the bushes. “Hmph. Guessing you’re here to clean up our mess?” the Cranidos stared intensely at the Marshadow, who slowly backed away. “U-uhm, well...” Caasi tried to reply back but then the Aipom interrupted, “Poor boy doesn’t have his ugly guardian protecting him! He must be so lonely~” she ended with a giggle.
“E-excuse me?” Caasi was taken back by the comment. “Oh, hell to this, let’s just take him out. He’s just a stupid wimp!” The Illumise pushed the Aipom to the side. “Wait.” The Cranidos stopped the Illumise for a few seconds, “Listen kid, you either leave this park, or we’ll make you!”. “Why you giving him a chance?” The Illumise muttered. “U-uh…” Caasi thought about it, he turned around and sighed, almost deciding to walk out of the park, until the Aipom spoke out, “Hahaha! What a weakling. He’s too scared, always so weak, no wonder why you have no friends. Even the ugly guardian left you!”. This made Caasi turn back round with an angry look on his face, his fists clenched and he stood his ground.
“Ngh, keep walking, kid.” The Cranidos grumbled. The Illumise shrugged, “Screw this.” she launched herself forwards, using her Play Rough move. She was about to land on the Marshadow until he quickly dipped into the shadows, causing the Illumise’s face to fall flat onto the ground. “Ow! Where you’d go, you little shit!” the Illumise quickly got up to look around. Suddenly she was hit in the back by a Shadow Sneak from Caasi, causing her to fall forwards back onto the ground again.
The Cranidos widened his eyes, he was taken back by the surprise attack but smirked as he had a plan brewing in his head, “Alright then. I’ll handle this.” He smiled. Caasi was looking down at the Illumise who was growling. The Marshadow noticed from behind, the Cranidos was charging with a Zen Headbutt, he quickly dipped into the shadow again, causing the Cranidos to stop, keeping his eyes onto the shadow around him. Caasi jumped out again but the Cranidos planned for this and quickly charged his Zen Headbutt straight into the Marshadow’s belly, causing him to fly backwards into a tree. Super effective! “Hmph, predictable.” The Cranidos smiled.
Caasi groaned as he rubbed his belly, “Ow…”, it reminded him of how his sister would deliver extremely powerful super effective blows onto him during training session. The Cranidos lowered his head again, brushing his foot onto the ground, ready to charge another zen headbutt. This next move would definitely take out the poor Marshadow. Suddenly a Flygon flew in and landed in front of Caasi, it flapped its wings, blowing the 4 perpetrators backwards. “Ngh, of course you had to interfere. I was so close to ridding that shadow kid.” The Cranidos snarled. “C’mon guys, let’s go, we don’t wanna mess with that Flygon.” He beckoned his colleagues and they all fled the scene.
“Oww…” Caasi got up slowly. The Flygon turned around and smiled “Glad to see you are okay, fellow Explorer!”. “U-uhm… are you Briar?” The Marshadow kept his hand on his belly. “Yes, that’s correct. You better be careful and choose your battles wisely. A four on one is a bad idea.” Briar heaved a sigh. “At least you didn’t cause any extra damage to the park.” He took a closer inspection at the Marshadow’s injuries, “Perhaps you should rest!”. Caasi shook his head “I’m here to help. I want to help replant the flowers for you!”. Briar took a second to think, but ultimately he agreed in the end “Sure thing. In fact, you can have a nice sit on my back, as we fix this park up for the mayor! If we run in those brutes again, I got you covered.” He winked as the Marshadow slowly climbed up on his back.
An hour or so passed by as both Caasi and Briar, along with a few other explorers quickly replanted rose bushes, sunflowers, replaced missing bricks on the walls, removed graffiti and made most of the park look like it was brand new. A Roserade came to inspect some of the repairs and nodding and happy with the results. “Oh Briar, t-thank you so much!” the Roserade cried with happiness. “Haha, don’t just thank me, Mayor. Thank the Explorers for helping us out!” Briar chuckled. Caasi hopped off the Flygon and waved at the Roserade. “Oh, thank you, shadow child!” The mayor vigorously shook Caasi’s hand.
Fleur finally came back with bags of things in her hand, it looked like she took way longer than expected. She floated over to Caasi and immediately noticed his injuries. “Caasi! W-what happened? Did ya hurt him?!” She turned to angrily glare at Briar, she didn’t like dragons, so she’d instantly put blame on Briar. “I-I’m fine, Fleur. There were these brutes, and they were very mean and I tried to stand up for myself but…” Caasi sighed, he was a bit disappointed at himself, wishing that he paid more attention to training with his sister. Briar chuckled nervously, “I protected Caasi from those guys!”. Fleur had fire in her eyes, she looked enraged, “Oh if I ever find out who did this to ya, Caasi. I swear I will tear them apart!”.
Caasi couldn’t help but smile, the Tapu Lele seemed to really does care about him despite only have met earlier today. It’s been quite an eventful day for Caasi’s first day as an Explorer. He can’t help but wonder if everyday as an Explorer will be like this. Midway through his thoughts, Fleur was staring straight at his eyes again like earlier, trying to read his thoughts. “If being an explorer is like this every single day Caasi, I will outright make sure ya are not part of it anymore. It’s too dangerous for ya!”. The Marshadow chuckled and held out his hand “Could you take me… to your home?”.
Fleur nodded, she expressed happiness with her eyes. “Oh Caasi, I’d be delighted to. Don’t be afraid to call it our home, you’re free to stay there as long as you like!” She took the Marshadow’s hand and they both walked down the streets. Briar smiled and some of the other explorers stopped to curiously look at what was going on. The Flygon turned around to them, “What you guys staring at, we got work to do! Go, go, go!”.
