Ori is the first of Sofia's pups, the only girl in a litter of three. Sofia is still a suboridinate when she gives birth to her pups, and having recently miscarried her own litter dominant female Raquell accepts them and ensures her niece that they would be well cared for. The Udevu Mob was currently down to only a few members due to several males leaving to go roving and some females leaving with a subordinate female who lost in a mashindano, so they needed any new members they could get.
When Ori and her brothers are still young, Raquell is sadly killed during a burrow move one day, leaving Sofia to take over as the group's new dominant female and take their roving male father Wemusa as her mate. The Udevu soon regained its lost numbers and Ori her share of the group's work, from sentry duty to babysitting her younger siblings. A few years into Sofia's reign, Ori ends up besting her mother in a mashindano and becomes the new leader of the Udevu. She never manages to take a mate of her own, but she did end up having a litter of pups sired by a roving male named Choyo. Ori absolutely adored her children and would do anything to keep them fed, even if it meant venturing into another mob's territory to find food for them. Her daughter Mene was sadly taken by a hawk when she was still a pup, but her remaining three children managed to make it to adulthood.
After her children reach adulthood, Ori suddenly fell ill. While she tried her best to stay strong and continue leading the Udevu, the illness weakened her and made her slow to react, which resulted in her being killed during a foraging trip one day. In the wake of her death, her two daughters Penda and Mwepesi fought for the role of dominant female which initially resulted in Penda coming out on top, though it would later be Mwepesi who would continue their mother's legacy.
Ori is a combination of two KMP meerkats: Oriole, who briefly appeared at the end of Season 4 of Meerkat Manor as one of Sophie's pups, and her half-sister Enili who took dominance after her and is the possible mother of current Whiskers dominant female Swift. Like KalahariMeerkatfan, I also decided to combine the deaths of the two meerkats (Oriole died from TB and Enili was hit by a car).
