Mwepesi and her littermates are born in the Udevu Mob to Ori, the group's dominant female at the time, and were sired by a rover named Choyo. Her sister Mene was sadly snatched by a predator when she was only a few months old, but Mwepesi and the rest of her siblings managed to survive to adulthood. After Mwepesi and her siblings reach adulthood, Ori suddenly dies one day, leaving the Udevu without a dominant female. Mwepesi and her sister Penda viciously fight for the role of dominant female, which results in Penda coming out on top and Mwepesi receiving a gash on the left side of her face which later became a scar.
Penda was now the group's dominant female and allowed Mwepesi to remain in the group as a subordinate, and later became a pupsitter when she took a roving male named Braima as her mate and gave birth to a litter of pups. Sadly, Penda was later killed by a predator when her pups were still young, leaving Mwepesi to become the new dominant female alongside Braima. Their partnership proved to be very successful one as they produced several litters together over the years, keeping the Udevu's numbers high. As a leader, Mwepesi faces many challenges ranging from droughts to attacks from rival mobs, and at one point a cobra bite that almost took her life. But no matter the challenges that she faces, Mwepesi stays strong for her family and is a very strong and noble leader of the Udevu.
Just like Maua before her.
And here we have Swift, the current dominant female of the Whiskers and one of the stars of the new Meerkat Manor series Rise Of The Dynasty. In real life Swift's father was unknown (her anonymous sire was most likely from either the Lazuli or the now lost Kung Fu as dominant female Enili was known to have mated with roving males from both mobs), but for my TLK/MM crossover I decided to have her dad be a semi-canon meerkat from one of the old TLK comics. You'll find out who soon.
