Tylarion grew up amongst the other dragons in the world of Finralishon. His kind ruled that plane of within the multiverse and they existed for hundreds of thousands of years. Until the day of the Qoliphic Cataclysm. When the very fabric of reality around the dimension began to crack and multiple tears opened up within the confines of the realm. All life and material that came into contact with these phenomena were torn apart to their constituent atoms. The greatest mages of the realm were powerless to stop this effect and soon only pockets of survivors were left after merely a months time. Tylarion was unsure as to what happened in the final moments of his realm but he does remember a brilliant flash of light and a falling sensation. The next thing he knew he was in a strange azure sky in free fall. Opening his wings he descended onto a strange and unknown world.
Tylarion has lived in this strange world for some time now. The worlds flora and fauna seemed to be agreeable to his being and he hunted and lived alone within a derelict and abandoned castle. No one ever came by to bother him and most of the worlds indigenous population ran from him. A few brave souls did attempt to communicate with him and after employing some magical aid he eventually was able to talk with them. They were a valuable source of information. He found out that this world is called Akkadilon, and that dragons only exist in fairy tales and ancient legends. The castle he made his residence in belonged to an ancient and now defunct order of knights long since dead and was believed to be cursed. Tylarion has never had an issue in the many seasons he has lived there so chalks it up to superstitious nonsense.
The cobalt dragon is a kind soul, still considered young by the terms of his race at only one hundred and forty seasons. Tylarion is able to breath out a beam of concentrated energy that disintegrates what it touches. He has lived in Akkadilon for twenty seasons now and in that time picked up a the fighting style of dual wielding swords from an old sword master, named Sarno, that wound up at the castle one day seeking shelter and unaware of the stories and its current resident. Tylarion initiated contact first with Sarno in an effort to break up his loneliness as the general population still are fearful of him. Sarno, after the initial surprise and shock by seeing a dragon man before him, entered into conversation with the young dragon man and listened to his story.
Sarno offered to train Tylarion in the arts of swordsmanship. He wanted to pass on his teaching to a student before he was gone from this world and most could not grasp the art of dual wielding to a sufficient level that would satisfy the old man. Tylarion seemed to pick it up very quickly and Sarno was pleased at the dragons progress. One day Sarno left with only a promise that he would return after a month saying that he needed to pick something up in the nearby town. Tylarion waited for a month and practiced the teachings of his master in that time. He was worried after the months end but saw his master walking up the road to the castle keeping true to his word. On arrival Sarno presented his gift to the young dragon man. A gleaming set of dark gray and black armor made to fit his bulk and accent his metallic blue scales. Complete with pauldrons, shin guards, gauntlets, breastplate and armored briefs. He presented two custom crafted swords for Tylarion as well. Life was good for both of them for awhile as Ty, as Sarno began to call him, continued his training under his masterful tutelage. However, after several more seasons, Sarno did not come down from his room in the castle and Ty found him in his bed a smile upon his face after passing away the night before. Ty buried his master in the courtyard of the castle and wept. He returned to his lonely existence until one fateful day everything changed for him.
The plan had gone off without a hitch. The six dragonspawn brothers entered into the portal formed by the Infinitum Loci and without a moments hesitation dived into it to escape from Necron's Dead City. It closed behind them and the nature of the Loci would not permit Necron to determine where it led to as no return gem had been attuned before hand. There was no way back from where the dragonspawn were going, a true one way trip and exactly what they wanted. However, this portal was less stable as it did not have a determined set point so the location they would end up in was given to random chance. The only stipulation that Cindrax put into the coordinates was that it was safe from Necron and it was not a world they had visited before. The portal opened up onto a world and ejected the six dragonspawn upon the ground violently. They tumbled out onto the open field and moaned as they waited for their heads to stop spinning.
"Where are we?" asked Raigar as he tried to keep his stomach contents inside.
"I have no idea," said Cindrax, "all I know is that I have never seen this place before and that right now is a good thing."
"Agreed," Nethric said as he stood up and instantly regretted it. His head continued to swim as he went down to all fours. His tail limp behind him. "Okay, not doing that again."
Eiseng and Baum, both remaining sitting as their heads cleared, looked around and noticed that the openness of this field was not a good sign. They were too exposed and being in a strange new world, that was something that could kill them quickly. Baum noticed the large blue speck that was heading towards them first and tried to nock an arrow in his bow but his arms felt like jelly.
Tylarion had noticed the flash of light from the Field of Norlangil a few moments ago and decided to investigate. He figured at best it was just a magical wizard duel between some rival mages and at worst a protracted battle between two of the factions that liked to duke it out. At any rate it would alleviate the boredom and take his mind off of things. As he approached the area he had seen the flash his eyes noticed the colored scales and glinting of armor. His heart raced as he got closer and noticed that the figures below were dragon men like him. Though not like any he had ever seen before as their colors were chromatic and not metallic like his people. Still, more dragon men existed and while he knew he should be cautious in case they were hostile, his loneliness and hope got the better of his common sense...mostly. He slowly descended towards them and noticed they didn't look at all well as if they were seconds away from puking their guts out. He landed a few yards away from them and fought everything to not rush to their aid.
Nethric had seen the figure after Baum had pointed it out and regarded the familiar shape as it descended. Another one of their own kind? He had never seen another one of their kind even in the many worlds he was sent on by Necron. To have one here was both something of a blessing but Nethric could not discount that it was also trouble. He warily watched as the metallic blue scaled dragon man descended and took up a position that probably was meant to be non threatening. Heavily muscled and dressed in armor that kinda mimicked their own started to set his mind at some bit of ease but he wouldn't take any chances.
"That's far enough" Nethric said in a language that him and his brothers shared.
"As you wish," Tylarion said. Both of their eyes went wide as they stared at one another. They fact they understood each other was not lost on them.
Nethric recovered first, "I don't know who you are but the fact we can understand one another and you haven't attacked us outright makes me inclined to trust you. Can you help me and my brothers find someplace safe in this world?"
Tylarion's heart raced faster. His excitement was threatening to break through the calm demeanor he was trying to put on. They were looking for someplace safe which meant they didn't know the area. Likely that flash of light was due to a portal that had put them here. Should he bring them to the castle or someplace else first? The safest option was to bring them to the castle and he desperately wanted someone to talk to especially people that looked like him and understood him. Fortune favored the bold though and right now he was desprite for any company at all.
"I know a place, not to far from here. If you and your brothers can walk we can get there in a few hours. Flying would be faster and safer but several of your brothers look like they are about to lose their lunch."
Ritter stood up gingerly and helped his mate stand up as well. Ritter's head still was swimming a bit but he maintained enough of his composure to help Baum up and stabilize his still wobbly legs. Eiseng's constitution allowed him shake off the effects pretty fast so he was willing to help out where he could. Nethric tried to stand but another wave of nausea hit him and he stumbled only to be caught by the strange new dragon man. Raiger and the others were just about to spring forward in defense of their older brother but Nethric held up a hand.
"Stand down, little brothers. If he meant us harm he could have easily done so by now." He turned to the metallic dragon and smiled. "Forgive them, they are very protective of my and I of them. They are my family after all." he smiled, "My name is Nethric."
"Tylarion, and I completely understand." He put his arm around the shadow dragonspawn to help him walk. "Your very lucky to have them." Tylarion said as he began leading the group to the castle.
"What about you, are there any others like you?"
Tylarion winced at the question. "No..." He said with a hint of sadness in his voice.
Nethric regretted asking the question when he heard the pain within Tylarion's voice. His instinct's immediately took over and before he realized what he was doing he had already nuzzled Tylarion's neck. He quickly looked away, "I'm sorry."
Tylarion hadn't expected the nuzzle but it had felt good. Even a tiny bit of affection from someone after all these years alone felt wonderful. He really hoped this would work out and that these guys would turn out to be decent people. He smiled and returned the nuzzle. "Don't be, it was nice." The two dragon men smiled at one another but his brothers had seen the display and they too were smiling. Ritter and Baum glanced to each other and grinned a knowing grin.
They managed to reach the castle faster then Tylarion thought as the act of walking had the effect of clearing their heads. Soon they were flying low and slow but even that was enough to expedite their travel time. Soon they reached the castle and Tylarion showed them around and even provided a meal for them which the brothers scarfed down hastily. They found it agreeable and they took to questioning Tylarion as to the nature of this world. Tylarion answered all of them that he could but soon the events of the day began to take their toll. Tylarion showed them where they could rest but he and Nethric would continue to talk through the night.
The five brothers would wake up the next day to find the two of them had passed out together and were leaning against a wall as the embers from the fire last night cooled. They were sleeping next to one another each looking in the opposite direction, but the brothers couldn't help but notice that their tails were entwined.
