All of the influences for my Were-Aykroyd character and the stories about him. They are as follows: Cabin In The Woods, Hellraiser franchise, Nightbreed, Twin Peaks...a lot of the psychological aspects of the Were-Aykroyd persona and his connection to my character are Twin Peaks inspired...especially because of the parallels to Dale Cooper (my character is similar to Dale) and Bob. The Were-Aykroyd basically acts as being akin to Bob right down to being in my character in a similar way to how Bob is inside of Dale's doppelganger, and also the dream sequences. Splatterhouse...the relationship between my character and the Were-Aykroyd also has parallels to Rick and the Terror Mask. Nightmare On Elm Street, the Were-Aykroyd does take after Freddy Krueger in the sense he can appear in dreams and whatever happens in dreams happens for real...although in his case it's basically him hypnotizing them and making them want to be like he is. Also as a monster in general the Were-Aykroyd is a parody of the typical 'hive-mind' type monster scenario, oh you know that old 'humans suck be one of us, one of us one of us gooble gobble type' cliche that some monster transformation RP scenarios have even if the species of monster doing doesn't make sense. The works of Stephen King, I definitely used Randall Flagg as a reference for the Were-Aykroyd, at least how he appears in one of his many guises. Tales From The Crypt presents Demon Knight, and Bordello Of Blood. Dead By Daylight - this is a major one since I have a version of him as a killer in the DBD universe, and I have a friend on here who told me that they can see the Were-Aykroyd as a killer going after the survivors.
Also From Dusk Till Dawn definitely is a major influence because that's how I picture the attack of the 'Aykroyds' being like, like with the vampires in Dusk. And also Fright Night, 1980's horror in general is a major influence on me and so this fits considering the horrifying but oddly sexy angle of 80's era vampires, Resident Evil: Village...I definitely used Dimitrescu and her daughters as an influence when describing the Were-Aykroyd and his brothers, The Fly (1986), everything about my character in the DBD universe is inspired by Seth Brundle/Brundlefly right down to the slow and gradual transformation and the nightmares he has as the result of his fear of the 'Aykroyd' side bursting out of him in a Cronenbergian manner. Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde of course plays a major part in too. But it's defnitely Phantasm that contributes the most to the influences.
