Here is a pair of scissors I've been working on and off of for three whole days.
I had made them because I wish to use them for cutting fabrics like the one it is laying on.
The pair isn't quite done yet, but it's close enough to being done for a picture.
The blades were made from roughly cut out pieces of lawn mower blade that I had slit and drifted holes in for the hand holes.
The handles are actually quite uncomfortable on their own no matter how much I've filed them to be smooth and accepting of the hand, so I thinned a strap of leather down with a skiving knife and soaked it in water to make it malleable, pricked holes, then sewed it on with some frustration.
Pricking the holes was easy, but sewing a tube onto a very wavy piece of steel was quite difficult, but it came out nicely enough.
Back to the fact that these are not finished-
I will have to take them apart, cut the thread and remove the leather tubing so I can grind the blade down thinner and then harden and temper them to a blue colour of a temper.
At this point, they do work, but they don't actuate as well as they should due to the fact they are still thick and not springy enough.
