Oh, well, the helmet, I asure you, is 100% real. WWII athentic. But, when I first got it, it had no interior. so I had the interior fixed.

So, there isnt the original fiber liner for it? Those old M1s had a seprate fiber liner that had the harness that sat on your head. How did you fix it?

...The shop had a white, slightly smaller plastic replica of the marines Medic helmet. they just shuved it inside the real Marine helmet. And the strap of the helmet, well, I just slipt it on the top front.

most probably. But It be very difficult to locate one liner here in Manila

Always eBay, I found most of my German and American stuff there, Didnt have to look for a M1 tho, I use my Dad's. He wore his in combat, always pissing off his CO's cause he wore that rather than his Kevlar, which I also have lol.

...Ja. But, firstly, I haven't gotten any luck with ebay, second, I don't have much cash.

You just gotta know what to look for man. narrow the search a bit, look for US M1 Helmets, there are bound to be liners in there, I find em all the time, and as for being cash strapped, only anwser I have for that is to save up my man. lol

If save up on dollars, then I just got shot then-n'-there.

Hey, I just recieved a Steel Pot Post-1944 helmet and I really need some tips on my reenactment outfit, I used to use a pair of tan khakis and a tan dress shirt to match, but it never felt right, especially now that I have the helmet, what do I do?

If you were sold that helmet as an original, you may want to talk to the shop keep. I'd bet good money it's not.

It couldn't have came from the Cold war or the Nam war. The only time the americans came to the Philippines was during WWII. There's an area in the Philippines where the Americans left most of their gear. few years later, it was taken and sold in Philippine markets. The Helmet it self is very old, rusted, and not to mention heavy. no interior left. Its not a reproduction, I would have noticed if it was. My Nazi helmet is on the other hand a reproduction.

This photo isn't the clearest, but it really does not look like an American WWII era helmet. If you could post a better photo of the interior and liner, I could be more certain.

Ahh, as I said, When I got the helmet, it had NO interior left.
So I had the interior added.

Then you need a liner! The bright white interior really distracts. For cheap, look for Vietnam era liners. For more authenticity, look for brown phenolic and tan webbing.

I know a place that has one complete 100% U.S marine helmet which is in grat condition. Everything is in it including the liner. Unfortunatley, it cost 6000 bucks.

when we leave after an invasion we leave what isn't important to us like broken equipment and gear so there is a good possibility it's real..and who knows maybe the shop keep bought a surplus of old army gear and sold it back for a profit?

My Uncle has a complete assorment of WWII helmets he bought in Canada. I havent seen it first hand, but I plan to on my spare time. I also plan to persua him to sell me his German Helmet.
