Pretty well written diary format, and a great end. Kind of reminds me of the anthro classic comic “Tales form the Morphing period.” Good stuff, write man and expand your written universes.

Your lost dairy style reminds me greatly of this other story that I've been searching this site high and low for. Maybe it was yours?

The story has future in the title I think.
A man time travels to a century where all of human kind has either been converted by a virus or disposed of by the resulting animal hybrids. His device malfunctions so he must infect himself to move amongst the new society and gather parts. A sympathetic vixen harbors him while he creates several phials containing the virus and an antivirus so he may change back for the trip home. But after it turns out his hybrid form is fox as well, the two become engaged with kits on the way and he abandons his plans of return.
