With the comments and the help of
dmf, I continue to create a more and more authentic look of Shaw mac Áedán. It is more difficult than I thought, as Gaelic means not Scottish, Scotia was once Ireland, and Pikts painted blue and had no kilt.... But this first impression of him in armor found dmf's approval, so I am on a good way.
Why has the Celtic answer on Hercules to wear armory? Well, like I said, he is rather unimpressed by any kind of plump weapon, with his body being about ten times more dense than a normal mortal; but arrows and blades can injure him like any other being.
So, Shaw wears in heavy battles a scale armor - http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_b-63DM4YA.....400/armor5.jpg - leaving his arms free (just for better movement, of course XD), a helmet with eye protection which was very common - http://historyshop.piratemerch.com/.....ian_helmet.jpg -, over that his kilt, protective sleeves made of thick leather, and sword, battle ax and spear.
If you still have critics or good ideas, then please tell me. This is the first try with some reasearch done, not the completed result.

One of the most authentic-looking pictures I've ever seen! ^_^ Though I undestand why you decided to forgo facial hair and braids. And I still long for him to show a lot more skin. X3 I know you're trying to avoid Stripperiffic, but considering how sexy he was the first time, I think he should still be sexy. XD
Uh dude, Gaelic is both Scotland and Ireland. And the Isle of Man too if you want to be super anal about it. The "Scotti" (Irishmen) took over Scotland and assimilated the Picts roughly 1400 years ago. In Scotland there are still a decent number of speakers of a Gaelic language related to Irish, mainly the northwest.
Anyway as a specialist in this field (warfare, the Middle Ages and Celtic history are essentially my job ) I can confirm that the weapons and helmet are commendably accurate. The kilt though, not so much. Forget Braveheart, those things weren't worn in battle until much later. If you want to be super accurate you could try giving him a baggy knee-length yellow shirt, like this:

Either on its own or underneath mail armour, sort of like this:
