Into the Void - 3
Serathin felt a strange heat come from the rubber of the mask as it was mere inches from his face, his mind only focused on the AI’s voice and the wonder of what secrets this item might hold. “Yes, so agreeable, this new host will do just fine.” The voice said as the rubber stretched around his head to engulf it in one swift stroke.
“New… host…” Serathin droned, but as his own words rang in his ears a part of his mind suddenly seemed to wake up to the situation at hand.
“Wait, what!?” His other hand gripped the mask and pulled it back just in time to avoid his head being completely engulfed in the strange material. “I don’t think so, I don’t take orders!”
The rubber tentacles quickly adapted however and wrapped around his wrist before he could get rid of the mask, while a second one began to wrap around his neck and his other hand grabbed a third in mid-air. The strange appendages were surprisingly strong though and it took all his strength just to keep the mask at bay. “You aren’t just going to slough me off, not after how much effort you’ve put into getting me.” The AI taunted as the rubber tentacles wrapped around his arms and legs.
Serathin could feel the strange, semi-solid rubber material began to seep out from the tentacles latched onto his body and looked down to see the black substance begin to coat his body. He felt a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach as he realized he fought a losing battle, and as he did so the mask could sense his distraction and formed two tentacles up around his head. The draconic sabre-wolf didn’t even notice as he the rubber crept up his neck and face and the skin underneath began to tingle as he continued to struggle. Suddenly he felt the two slick appendages push into his ears, which caused his head to snap back and his eyes widen in surprise from the intrusion.
“Here, let me help you see a different perspective.” The mask said in a diabolical tone as all of Serathin’s focus was centered on the thick substance that poured through his ears impossibly and into his skull. His struggles became distracted as images began to flash across his eyes, the whispers of the mask could now be heard inside his head as he saw what he recognized as the schematics of the building overlaid across his vision like some sort of HUD. Even though what he saw was fascinatingly curiously his mind continued to rebelled, even though he could feel the mask’s influence press against him.
“Get out of my head!” Serathin screamed, his voice echoed against the metal walls of the vault as the mask’s voice grew louder and more prominent in his mind.
There was a low chuckle from the mask’s voice as it could sense the sabre-wolf’s resolve weakening, the mask itself inched closer and closer to its target as his body grew more coated by the enhanced rubber. His mind wasn’t the only thing that was being changed either; the muscles in his chest and arms grew slightly thicker as the latex seeped into his skin, giving his already defined body a more toned look as the rubber around his neck and arms turned a silvery color. Out of the corner of his eye he could see that his wrist computer had been assimilated into what now looked like a pair of silvery wrist guards, the same as the collar that had formed unseen around his shiny black neck.
Serathin was not about to go down though, his wings flared out as he used every ounce of his resolve to continue to resist both the mask and the changes, hoping that as long as he kept the mask off of him the transformation would remain incomplete. “Stop struggling, we’re going to be so much better once we’re together.” The mask said relentlessly as its assault continued on both mind and body. Serathin could begin to see the thoughts of the mask and the AI that had inhabited it, and he soon realized, much to his horror, what it had in store for him.
