don't necessarily NEED the glasses to do that, but they're a nice finishing touch XD
I really should go more into lore with the visor tech and why he and some of his thralls use it. one reason is while their capacity for regeneration is amazing, the only thing harder to regenerate than pieces of brain is an eyeball so those are extra protected.
